How to Come Back After a Trading Loss?

Trading Contest Standings

Taking a trading loss can be a devastating blow, which many traders can’t bounce back from. When I first started trading I took some losses that ruin my mental ability to continue to trade. These losses were very difficult for me to bounce back from it took me a long time to learn how to continue to trade and move forward after a loss.

In the video below I show you exactly how I made it back from down 71% in one day. This was done through following my plan and not getting emotional after taking a series of losses. The losses that I had the day before were because I was trading poorly and I made some bad trading decisions. I had to take a break step back and look at my mistakes, then I headed make a commitment not to make those mistakes again.

Also I had to make a new plan when that was a little more aggressive than I had originally designed.

  • Yes most traders with small accounts can really be a difficult thing. But it’s not impossible. Along with comebacks those are two import areas where the truth isn’t being taught.

  • Gene thanks for the comment. I agree that action. Is critical but I think when you act emotionally that usually causes big trouble.

Thank you Casey. Also today I learned from a trading psychologist that resilience, intuition, and action more than thinking are all some of the key elements of trading which make up positive trading mentality, or as you say “shake off losses” and move on…
