Intra Day Trading Strategy

I have several key trade setups that I consistently look for. When I follow those setups then I make money. When I do other things I lose money.

So in today’s video I want to show you one of the key day trading strategies I use on a daily basis.

Great reflection on a day trading strategy. I will cite you here: “When I follow those setups then I make money. When I do other things I lose money.” That is how you are consistent in the long-term- by following simple but yet effective rules. Great thoughts, great video!

Why do you not just wait for the retest of the break out level and take 20 or more pips. There is no logic adge behind your trades. Why open the trade, 50/62 retracement? Pullback to EMA? No…..
What are the take profit rules, where was the initial stop? Sorry, nothing for beginners and nothing for advanced…

Casey, I wonder how did you define a low starting point of your trend line in eurusd trade? Why you start your trade line just on that small doji candle?

  • Benson

Waow Casey those were very fantastic trades. A win is a win in forex no especially when you are using very big lot size, it doesn’t matter how many pips you get, as long as it is on your side, that is a big success. I really have to work on growing my small account into big size with your lessons here, so that I can be part of your mentorship class in the future. Although I wish a can have a way of joining you now…. Thanks Casey for the great job of helping us out with this site.

  • On the Eurusd I saw the price headed back down so I got on it before the full retrace. But your right I should have waited for the level to be tested. The other reason I didnt wait is I only needed a small gain to achieve my monthly profit goal and so I believed I would be able to achieve that goal.

As it turned out I did hit my goal πŸ™‚

on eurusd, you enteed the sell trade when price made a low point but you did not wait the price until price bounce on the support. on the other hand on audusd you entered the buy trade when price bounced on the resistence. why?

  • because I keep my eye on high of day and low of day. When it hits new loss I wait for pullbacks.

I risk a set dollar amount not pips when I get to the dollar level I set. I then close the trade.

    1. @2.06, how do you know that the price have made a low point?
    2. your target / profit was 6 pips but how much pips have you risked?

  • Thanks Mike

Thanks Casey. To make 8.8% on such a modest pip gain is impressive. I’m looking forward to seeing how you manage your risk with multiple positions when the live classes start. Cheers, Mike

  • You can do it Peter.

Thank you for this valuable information, Casey. All I need to accomplish my goal this year is 9 – 12 pips a day.

  • About the risk. I risk a fixed dollar amount.

    Thanks for your response Casey!

    Hi Casey,
Thank you for sharing your trade idea.

    Hi Casey,
Thank you for sharing your trade idea.
May I ask how you draw your trend line? Why is it crossing the candle body?

  • Oh yea Scott would say that taking a trade with only 4 pips is terrible. πŸ™‚
Scott is a great trader and taught me a lot about trading.

We just disagree about the scalp trade.

  • Thanks Richard

My goal is to take this account to a point to where I can easily make a living trading it.

The purpose is to show people that it can be done and to teach others how to do it.

I’m surprised by the results of the contest as well but I am teaching people to trade successfully and those that are dedicated will learn how.

Thanks Casey for sharing, I actually follow your myfxbook account and I have to say that I have never seen anything like it, the performance is just phenomenal, I don’t know if you can teach anyone to be as good as you, as it must be a gift πŸ™‚

So what is your ultimate goal with that account? I still cant help but feel bad for the other people in the contest that crashed and burned, I thought that if you enter a trading contest that means that you know what you are doing, do you know where they went so wrong?

I am not sure if you will share this info on the Blog but how much % on average of your account do you think it is ok to risk per trade?

Thanks again for all the pointers. Happy new year!!

  • Who is Mr. B?

  • Luke

3 trades of +4 pips, +6 pips, and +9 pips making 8.8% of your account!???! Wow. Not what Mr. B. promotes. πŸ™‚
