Unemployment claims fell 42,000 this week from an upwardly revised 388,000 figure from last week. The Labor Department released the claim numbers at around 8:30am EST Thursday. We are seeing some U.S. Dollar weakness in the market today so far.

Investors and economists will be looking forward to hearing Friday’s many news events!
U.S. Retail Sales: Retail sales in the U.S. have been decent recently, rising 1.1% after a .4% climb in the month before. Tomorrow’s report will be watch closely.
U.S. PPI: The PPI (Producer Price Index) rose 0.7% in February from January. Tomorrow’s report is expected to be released at -.2%.
UoM Consumer Sentiment: The University of Michigan will release their Consumer Sentiment Friday. Consumer sentiment is expected to rise .5 points.
Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke will be speaking tomorrow. If there is a Q and A session tomorrow after the meeting, he could shed some light on his thoughts concerning the U.S. economic state.
